UKABC Achievements

Taha Coburn-Kutay is the Chairman of UK Asian Business Council which he formed in February 2014 and ever since has been achieving targets both on cultural & business front. The achievements are listed below in chronological order:

  1. Organised the European Summit for GOPIO International & Government of India in October 2014 with prominent Ministers/Mayors/business people participating both from UK & India. This was done with the help of Mr. Munish Gupta, International Co-ordinator, GOPIO International.
  2. Participated in the Science & Technology conference which was organised by DRDO & FICCI in New Delhi, India in November 2014. I was appointed as one of the advisors on the advising team for National Mission for Ganga Cleaning and Smart City projects. Mr. Munish Gupta facilitated us in this conference as he was the main organiser of this conference
  3. January 2015, Bharatiya Pravasi Divas: Signed MoU with Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, People of Indian Origin Chamber of Commerce and Dutch India Business Council in the presence of The Rt. Hon. Priti Patel, Minister from UK
  4. Facilitated a MoU between London South Bank University (LSBU) & Max India (Mihir University) for sharing of health curriculum of LSBU and Nurse training programme with Mihir University. This MoU had been stalled for over a year with our intervention it was executed in three weeks.
  5. Facilitated the organisation of Sabarmati ki Sant, play on Mahatma Gandhi which was showcased at PBD in Gujarat with the High Commission of India and Dr. Virander Paul. Unfortunately due to unavailability of funds this was delivered from GOI. It’s still in the pipeline.
  6. We signed MoU’s with Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce & Indo-American Global Chamber of Commerce subsequently after the PBD.
  7. In negotiations with Seychelles about introducing Blue Ocean Technology in India and opening the tender process.
  8. Facilitated the visit of Mr. Madhukar Jetley the then NRI Minister, IAS Rank from Uttar Pradesh in UK. MoU with Uttar Pradesh Minister in the Pipeline.
  9. Organised the 68th Independence Day at the Indian Gymkhana Club with the High Commission of India. The turn out last year was the highest in the History of UK and broke record of over 9000 people attending the function.
  10. Organised Business Summits in London, Manchester & Nottingham for Rwanda. The High Commissioner has appointed us as the Business contact for Rwanda in UK.
  11. Was given the responsibility to manage all Mosques and Gurdwara during Prime Minister Mr. Modi’s event. Handled over 5000 people in Co-ordination with the Organising Committee and High Commission of India.
  12. We have helped the Somalians in UK start business especially in Leicester. We have been asked to locate companies which are able to and wish to fish in Somalian seas and also start food processing plants there.
  13. Took a delegation from UK to India in November’15 on Green Energy and organised meetings/evets with companies in India and also the Power Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal.
  14. Organised round table conference for Government of Odisha delegation in early December 2015 with CII.
  15. Attended Happening Haryana with a delegation of 12 people. Met with the Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar and presented with a Solar based file cover. Also, invited him to visit UK in August 2016 with a business delegation. We signed a MoU with Federation of Indian Industries in front of Ministers and dignitaries from Haryana.
  16. We invited the New Zealand MP Mr. Kanwaljeet Bakshi & India Trade Alliance to UK and also are in the process of signing a MoU with them.
  17. Japan Education centre is working closely with us to start teaching & training programs through webinars throughout the world. We have signed a MoU with them
  18. Organised round table conference for Government of Telangana in March’15 with the CM Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu with Indo British Business Forum.
  19. Organised State visits from India to UK over the last two years & worked very closely with the High Commission of India to organise.
  20. Introduced Education & Sports councils for exchange programs with Southall Football Club, Amity University & Northampton University.
  21. Participated in India Africa day in New Delhi on 22nd of April.
  22. Organised the Uganda UK Health summit with British Medical Association & British medical Journal on 30th April in London, UK. Facilitated donation of a mobile pathology laboratory to the Government of Uganda from India.
  23. Organised the inaugural Business Breakfast Club of UK Asian Business Council in House of Commons with a focus on “Make in India”. The key note speaker were Dr. Virander Paul, Dy. High Commissioner of India and Alok Sharma, MP, Infrastructure Envoy to India
  24. Working with Jeena International a charity which helps people who have suffered Domestic Violence or Abuse of any kind whether man or woman. Launched Jeena International in House of Lords in the presence of Lord Popat.

  27. Official Partners of High Commission of India for the Independence Day, 21st August at the Indian Gymkhana, London. Painting the largest flag of India which will enter Guinness Book of world Records
  28. Official Partners of Uganda Trade Convention in London, September 2016. King Solomon is the Chief Guest at this trade conference
  29. Official Partner at Reload Greece Conference and Speaker on To Promote Business and Trade through Diaspora engagement
  30. Official Partners to organise a conference in India with Embassy of America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and UK for Jeena International
  31. Exclusive event organisers for Indian Gymkhana Club, London’s 100th anniversary in March 2017
